Refugees.
Imagine living in this world not feeling safe, chased by the threats of war, corruption, abuse, envy, evil and greed. There is tremendous suffering happening but also a potential for unity when you fight against a common enemy. Pain and emergency unify us more than anything. All the nonsense and empty life fillers wash away in an instant. The “refugees“ is about people fleeing from unbearable circumstances but find companionship, support and common ground with other refugees. The connection happens in the suffering and finding their way to safety and freedom.
About Marat Essex
I am a multicultural, International artist born in Norway and now living in the U.S., in the graceful, rolling hills of Virginia. My concentration lies in the human body. I find the human form incredibly beautiful and feel profound sense of connection with the emotions we all have. My art conveys attitudes, elegance, beauty, sexual energy, passion and agony. Studying the human mind has allowed me to explore emotions and the delicate dance that occurs between people, deriving a unique understanding of the dynamics of stages, human behavior and emotion.
